Rankings
Calculations:
Requirements
for a race to record rankings or virtual
money
1.
Race length has to be 4% or longer.
2.
Race has to have six drivers or
more. Driver's ID in race must match
their RaceServers ID or the driver will not
rank or receive virtual money.
3.
Race
results can be affected by skipping Qualifying and
Happy Hour. Game needs time to create info for race
results and by skipping either of these may cause a
corrupt race file to be created. If this happens, results
will not rank.
4. Allow
the game to go to the Winners Circle so that it has
time to get all the drivers results, especially if you
have a lot of drivers in a race.
5.
If setting up one race after another, it is best to
have everyone leave server and then re-enter once the new
race is setup.
6.
Rankings from a race can be lost, remember
this is the internet, also if a server was
to lose internet connection after a race is
finished and before it transferred the race
data to the RaceServers.net ranking
database, it is possible that that file
could be sent later and cause others to be
lost from that server.
How
rankings are scored.
1.
Members do not score points off
non-members. (So even if you are on a
ranking server, and you are racing with
non-members, you will not receive points nor
have points taken away for racing against a
driver that is not a member of
RaceServers.net.)
2.
There are 0-15 skills, (See Pyramid
Below).
The skill levels are divided up into
Careers (Newbies, Rookies, Intermediate,
Advance, Professional and at the top of
Professional is Racing God or Deity. (Please
NOTE: If you make it to 15,we will worship
you from afar and avoid your bumper. J)
Career
levels are established for each track.
You
can only advance or fall one skill level at
a time within a Career level.
Once
you move into a higher Career level, you can
not fall below the lowest skill level in
that Career level.
In other words, you can not fall into
a lower Career level.
Your
skill level can advance or fall within the
Career level you have achieved.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level One,
this requires you to reach or exceed an
average of 2 points within your best 8 races
out of 10 races you have entered.
The average is always determined by
assuming you have run eight races.
The value you receive for races you
have not yet run is zero.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level Two
requires an average of at least 5 points for
your best 8 out of your last 10 races.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level
Three requires an average of at least 9
points for your best 8 out of your last 10
races.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level Four
requires an average of at least 14 points
for your best 8 out of your last 10 races.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level Five
requires an average of at least 18 points
for your best 8 out of your last 10 races.
Please
do not confuse Career levels with Overall
Rankings or with skill levels within a
Career.
The
rankings are set up in a way to make it
hopefully fun, yet challenging enough to
keep it interesting.
We are testing this particular
method, so if it needs changing in the
future to be either more or less
challenging, we reserve that option.
Now,
I will attempt to explain how this system
works, so hopefully everyone will
understand.
Keep in mind, the newbies and rookies
will have an easier time gaining points to
move up.
Think of them as ARCA, and Busch
drivers.
As you move up into the other Career
Levels, it will be harder to gain Careers
and points, especially if you are racing
drivers that are in lower career levels than
yourself.
(Picture yourself as a Winston Cup
driver, racing against Busch and ARCA
Drivers, usually the Winston Cup guys win,
because they have a lot more expertise.)
In this scoring system, a driver in a
Career level of Advance and Professional has
to race his/her peers to gain more points,
especially if you want to become a Racing
God. J
For
each driver you beat that is:
Two
Skill levels or more higher than you, you
receive:
5 points.
One
Skill level higher than you, you receive:
4 points.
Same
Skill level as you, you receive: 3 points.
One
Skill level lower than you, you
receive:
2
points.
Two
Skill levels lower than you, you receive:
1 point.
Three
or more Skill levels lower than you, you
receive:
0 point.
For
each driver you lose to that is:
Two
Skill levels or more higher than you, you
lose:
1 point.
One
Skill level higher than you, you lose:
2 points.
Same
Skill level as you, you lose:
3 points.
One
Skill level lower than you, you lose:
4 points.
Two
or more Skill levels lower than you, you
lose:
5 points.
Example
using the minimum number (7) of drivers
needed for a race to score:
Assuming
all contestants are of skill level zero and
you win the race, you would advance to skill
level one.
You received 3 points for each of the
6 opponents you beat for a total 18 points.
Add zero for the seven races you have
not yet run, which still gives you a total
of 18 points.
Divided your total (18) by eight,
leaves an average greater than 2, therefore
you advance to skill level one.
If
you had come in second in this race you
would have received 12 points.
(3 x 5 opponents you beat minus 3 x 1
opponent you lost to). Add zero for the
seven races you have not yet run.
Divided the total (12) by 8 gives an
average of 1.5.
When you round off the average of 1.5
to a whole number, you have the average of 2
which allows you to advance one level to
skill level one.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level Two
requires an average of at least 5 points for
your best 8 out of your last 10 races.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level
Three requires an average of at least 9
points for your best 8 out of your last 10
races.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level Four
requires an average of at least 14 points
for your best 8 out of your last 10 races.
To
advance one skill level in Career Level Five
requires an average of at least 18 points
for your best 8 out of your last 10 races.
Now
to add some chaos to our drivers points:
Incidents:
For
each incident
Newbies lose
1pt.
Rookies
2 pts.
Intermediate
3 pts.
Advance 4 pts.
Professional
5 pts.
If
you want to become a Deity, you would have
to be a skill level of 14 and beat six or
more drivers with that skill, eight
consecutive races.
So you have your work cut out for
you. At this point all I can say is:
“Gentleman
start your Engines.”
